Concussion Management

We are committed to offering a high standard of care for all individuals and athletes who are at risk of a concussion. We use ocular-vestibular therapy, full neurological and balance assessment, and other tests such as ImPACT concussion testing to develop a well-balanced concussion recovery plan. Managing concussion in an individualized manner is the best way to get patients back to work, school and daily activity safely.

We recommend booking an initial concussion assessment at Acorn with one of our healthcare providers if a concussion is suspected or past incident (MVA, falls, sport impact injuries, etc.) has left you with some of the symptoms below:

  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Visual Changes
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep irregularities
  • Motion sensitivity
  • Balance and walking changes
  • Nausea
  • Mood changes
  • Memory changes/confusion
  • Brain fog

If you are experiencing deteriorating mental status such as increasing confusion and difficulty recognizing people or places emergency evaluation is warranted. Going to the nearest hospital is the best course of action. Other symptoms requiring immediate medical attention include worsening headaches, worsening nausea or vomiting, and excessive drowsiness or lethargy.
